“But that’s illegal,” Malika said. “He can’t do that.
I have rights!”
“It doesn’t have to be about your pregnancy. He could say you were underperforming or not getting along with coworkers or something. And in Giacomo’s case, he could say you were combative.” Stacy quieted her yelping dog in the background. “He’s a vindictive little bitch. You wouldn’t believe how many times he’s thrown me under the bus.”
“But Jodi wouldn’t have let that happen,” Malika said, leaning against Kya’s kitchen counter for support. “She’s cool and seems to keep things above board, right?”
“Please.” Stacy laughed. “Don’t trust any of them. I can’t tell you how many people have quote/unquote resigned or parted ways with the company because they pissed Alistair or one of his little minions off.”
